CanTech International is an established industry-leading magazine covering all aspects of metal packaging. This is our second website for Gravesend-based publishers Bell Publishing, following our creation of the Sweets & Snacks Europe website last year.

As the existing CanTech website included a comprehensive company directory and the ability for subscribers to the magazine to access password-protected content, we developed functionality to meet these needs. The company directory is a sophisticated WordPress plugin tailored to CanTech’s needs, enabling companies to purchase listings in the supplier directory either by paying online via SagePay or by requesting an invoice. Existing listings can also be managed, edited, upgraded and renewed online via a custom user control panel, with renewal notifications sent out automatically to companies with listings.

Users can also subscribe to CanTech International online, creating a username and password in the process that gives them access to subscriber-only content – again, either by paying online or by requesting to be invoiced directly. Subscribers can extend their subscriptions online and receive notification when their subscription is due to expire.

Sweets & Snacks Europe is a brand-new publication for confectionery buyers and retailers, produced by Gravesend-based publishers Bell Publishing. Bell came to us having seen our work on the websites for Russell Publishing’s magazines, and asked us how quickly we could produce a site for the launch of this new publication in January!

We committed to a quick turnaround for the Sweets & Snacks Europe site, aided immensely by Bell Publishing’s excellent brief and prompt provision of the assets needed to put the website together. WordPress once again formed the platform for the site, offering sophisticated functionality and a very simple interface for Bell’s editorial team to use to update the site. We also integrated Mailing Manager, Bell’s email fulfilment system, with the site, enabling visitors to sign up to e-newsletters without the need for Bell’s staff to re-key their details.

With advertising being a key feature of the site, we designed it with plenty of banner space in mind, and integrated OpenX with the site to serve and maage their ad content.

We went live with the site just four weeks after our initial meeting with Bell Publishing, and we look forward to working with the company more in the near future!

Wellgrove Farm Equestrian is a fantastic riding stables and Pony Club centre in Pembury, near Tunbridge Wells, providing riding lessons and hacking for both adults and children.

They needed a new website that would be easy for them to update themselves without any technical knowledge, and that their many riders could interact with, so we designed and built them a site in our speciality content management system, WordPress, to fulfil both these needs.

WordPress is a fantastically user-friendly CMS that’s simple to update without any web knowledge, but it also offers sophisticated functionality for blogging, comments, news feeds, event calendars and more.

We are extremely proud to announce the launch of our redeveloped website for Pilgrims Hospices, a UK charity providing palliative care to the people of east Kent.

Our largest website project to date, the Pilgrims Hospices website features almost three hundred posts and pages in total, ranging from news articles to events, job vacancies to training courses, and loads of information about both the services Pilgrims Hospices provide and the ways that supporters can get involved with fundraising and volunteering.

The Pilgrims Hospices website is based on the WordPress content management system – a vital cost-saver for a charity, being open source and thus free to use. However, this particular installation of WordPress features a huge amount of customisation to cater for the many differing needs of the site. Highlights include a shop locater based on a custom Google map, a Gift Aid calculator, custom contact forms, events calendars, integration with social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube, and much more.

As fundraising is so vital to a charity like Pilgrims Hospices, we also redeveloped their online donations process, and added the ability for visitors to join the Pilgrims Hospices Lottery online or even buy a Lottery gift voucher for friends or loved ones. And with training and education a key element of what Pilgrims offer, we also developed a custom booking form for training courses, with the option to pay online, by cheque or by invoice.

It’s been a privilege to work on the Pilgrims Hospices website and feel we’ve contributed to the amazing work they do with their patients and families, and we’re looking forward to continuing our relationship with the Pilgrims team in the future.

FX-MM is the final website we’ve designed and developed for industry publishing house Russell Publishing. A highly news-focused website, the emphasis is on daily trading commentaries and updates on financial and money market issues.

With a slight shift in branding, FX-MM looks a bit different to its sister publications, but we’ll be revisiting each of the six other Russell Publishing magazines in the future to bring them into line with the new look and feel.

International Sustainable Energy Review (ISER) magazine is the sixth publication from Russell Publishing whose website we have redeveloped. Like its sister publications, ISER is built on the WordPress content management system and expands upon the use of the new WordPress 3.0 release with further use of custom post types and custom fields to make it an even more effective and user-friendly content-management system.

Will-writing firm Alex Truesdale Wills Limited asked us to create a website not only to promote their professional services in Surrey, Kent and the South East, but to offer a broad range of contextual information on the important of having a valid Will.

With no brand or logo yet in place, we worked with Alex to develop a visual identity for the business, designing her a logo and associated stationery including business cards, letterheads and compliments slips. We designed the website using an extended colour palette, and built it using the highly versatile and search engine-friendly WordPress platform.

Chartered surveyors Cranborne Associates needed a website to promote their range of surveys and reports. With a logo and brand colours already established, our brief was to design a site to be consistent with the company’s existing print materials.

We created a clean, fresh and professional look and feel for the site, and integrated the PageLime content management system to make it easy for Cranborne Associates to update the content themselves. Finally, we submitted a sitemap to Google and installed Google Analytics to keep track of visitors to the website.

Our fifth website for Russell Publishing, Eurotransport shares many of the same applications of open-source content management system WordPress with its sister sites, European Railway Review, International Airport Review, European Pharmaceutical Review and New Food.

However, as we built Eurotransport on the latest major release of WordPress, version 3.0, it boasts a few new features to make maintaining and updating the site even more user-friendly and optimised for search engines.

We’re looking forward to working with more of the new features of WordPress 3.0 as they mature!

New Food magazine belongs with Russell Publishing’s family of industry-leading magazines, including European Railway Review, International Airport Review and European Pharmaceutical Review.

Using WordPress and the WishList plugin, the site integrates paid-for members-only articles with publicly viewable content. And we’ve now set up Twitter identities for each publication, with Tweet This buttons against each article, so visitors can reTweet content to their followers.
